Dr. Sonia Guillen is a Peruvian archaeologist and bio-anthropologist with a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan. She has previously served as the National Director of Museums in the Ministry of Culture. And currently serves as an elected member of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States. She is the director of Centro Mallqui, where she specializes in the documentation, conservation, and study of the cultural patrimony of Peru, in particular mummies and human remains.
